Exceptional piece in red amber weighing 46.78 grams and ± 7.5 x 4.5 cm. On one side it is not polished so that the original piece can be seen. A large insect (diptera) can be seen with the naked eye, more than one centimeter long and other smaller indeterminate ones.
This amber is unique since it is fluorescent and gives green color, it can be seen with black light. Delivered with box and description.
* Chiapas amber has special characteristics; In its natural state it appears as nodules of yellow, reddish or golden color, within strata of calcareous marine sandstones and lignite layers in geological formations corresponding to the final part of the Oligocene and early Miocene, with an age of 22.5 to 26 millions of years. It has been determined that its paleobotanical origin was the resin of a legume of the genus Hyme-naea, ancestor of the tree known locally as guapiñol.
