The Spinosaurus (scientific name Spinosaurus, from the Greek for "spine reptile") was a dinosaur
megalosauroid theropod that inhabited North Africa in the middle of the Cretaceous (in the Cenomanian epoch,
between 95 and 93 million years ago). It was found in Niger, Egypt and Morocco.
The Spinosaurus belonged to the family Spinosauridae and was closely related to the Baryonyx, Suchomimus, and Irritator.
