Spectacular conservation of a fossil fruit. The piece measures ± 9 × 7 × 4 cm thick. The fruit measures 3.5 cm × 2.5 cm. It also has remains of the trunk of the same tree.
Trigonocarpus: It is the generic name given by Brongniart (1828) to certain fossil fruits, very abundant in coal deposits, both the Old World and the New World, the botanical relationships of which are still uncertain.
