Rhodochrosite

Rhodochrosite piece measuring ± 5 x 2.5 x 4 cm, mounted on a 4 x 4 cm base. The crystals are deep pink in color and are accompanied by small quartz.

• The mineral is found in fractures (ladder type veins). There were three periods of failure and mineral deposition, one prior failure of the mineral, fracturing with the deposition of quartz.
