* Near the city of Toledo in Lewis County, Washington, there is a geological layer of the earth formation known as Wilkes.Hace 12-20 M.A. the creatures that inhabited this area at that time formed the manure that was preserved by the mineral siderite, iron carbonate. Manure is gone, but its shape was completely replaced by this mineral that has become a fossil, is called coprolito. The study of these coprolites is important to help determine what the environment and to understand the eating habits of prehistoric creatures.
